OPPORTUNITIES, INC. IS PROUDLY WORKING ON WEATHERIZTION PROJECTS FUNDED BY THE AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT AND THE MONTANA RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT.
The Weatherization Assistance Program helps reduce the high cost of energy for low-income households. Energy saving measures such as insulation, weatherstrip, caulking, water heater jackets and more are installed in eligible homes.
We have 18 weatherization technicians, 4 auditors, 2 Production Supervisors and 3 office staff working diligently to complete contracts from the Department of Energy, Low Income Energy Assistance, Bonneville Power, Energy West and Northwestern Energy to name a few.
The ARRA DOE program requires us to complete 380 homes in Browning as well as in other parts of Glacier County, and in Cascade, Pondera, Toole, Chouteau and Teton Counties.
Beginning October 1st, we will be accepting applications for 2009—2010 .
The Low Income Energy Assistance Program helps with cost of main heating source during the winter months. the program subsidizes a portion of client's heating costs during the season. Eligibility is based on family size and income, payments are made directly to the utility vendors.
Energy Share helps people with home heating
emergencies caused by situations beyond their control and may be the last resort for some who are not eligible for other programs. Concerned
individuals and organizations contribute funds to assist people in
hardship circumstances.
